When you need it

  • People copy the same data between documents by hand.
  • A process depends on one person remembering to do it.
  • A scheduled job fails at night, and nobody knows until the numbers are wrong.
  • Month-end closing waits for checks that follow fixed rules.
  • Automated actions have piled up, and nobody can say what each one does.

Application

Automate.

A business has steps that people repeat by hand. A status is changed, a reminder is sent, a document is created, a figure is copied from one record to another.

Automating a step is the small part. The engineering is in deciding which steps are worth it, and in making sure somebody sees when one fails. An automation nobody watches repeats its errors unnoticed.

What we do

  • Scheduled processing: jobs that run at set times, each with a defined scope.
  • Event-driven processing: a confirmed order, a received delivery or a paid invoice starts the next step.
  • Operational automation: approvals, reminders, documents, replenishment.
  • Integration automation: the processing behind the data flows that link Odoo to other systems.
  • Logs, alerts and a manual path, so people can see what the system did and step in.

How it connects

An automation is a business rule written into the system. The owner of the process decides what the rule is. We build it so that it does the same thing each time. The areas where such rules live are on the Odoo page.

On the application layer, automation that crosses into another system is part of Connect. Automation that needs new logic or new screens is part of Build & customize.

On the platform layer, scheduled jobs and queues need workers, logging and monitoring. That is Run. A change to an automation goes to production through Deploy. Jobs that already fail without notice are a case for Rescue.
